Where are tryouts held?

All sessions of tryouts will begin on the east field of Rocky Mountain Middle School. Check-in starts 30 minutes before your scheduled time in the school parking lot.

Does my player need to tryout if they already played on an HV United team last year?

Absolutely. Team placement is not continued year to year, and most teams experience some roster shifting at tryout time.

What if I cannot attend the tryouts?

Every effort to be there should be made. If a player must miss tryouts, coaches/trainers may arrange to have him/her undergo an individual tryout at a different time if the situation warrants. However, team placement may be affected. Returning to the same team or even a lower team would not be guaranteed if not attending tryouts.

Do I need to attend both days?

Yes, players need to attend all days reflected on the schedule for their birth year. Typically, the younger age groups will have two days of tryouts with shorter sessions, and the older age groups will have one day with a longer session.

Can I play with the kids in my grade?

US Soccer mandates that teams are created by birth year, according to international systems. Grade level does not come into play during team creation.

What do I need to bring to tryouts?

Your player should come to tryouts appropriately dressed in athletic clothing with their own water bottle. You do not need to bring a ball. While cleats and shin guards are nice to have for comfort and safety, they are not required.
