Presidents March News Letter
Despite Mother Nature’s delay, I promise spring will eventually arrive, we will move training outdoors, and the season will be in full swing. When that happens, the fields will be greener, the sun will feel warmer, and we will once again be able to enjoy the game of soccer under the watchful eye of Mt. Timpanogos in our beautiful valley. I am anxious for warmer weather and to see our players on the pitch. I know you are as well. This past Monday, the Board met for our monthly meeting. During this meeting, we discussed the following items:
- The Board finalized the vision of the club. Moving forward, we want HVU to be:
HVU is a premier soccer club recognized for providing quality programming across all age groups and playing levels, and for consistently helping participants achieve their maximum potential while instilling a love of the game. Moving forward, the Board will apply the vision to every decision made in order to ensure we are meeting the benchmarks we have set for ourselves as a Board and for the club. Additionally, the vision provides an opportunity to measure our progress in the coming years. This is exciting stuff.
- We have finalized the new uniforms for the 2023/2024 season. The Board is working to make sure the ordering portal is up and running at the conclusion of tryouts. We will have kits to look at and try-on at tryouts. This year, the Board decided to go fully custom so we, as a club, stand out among the other teams. I think we accomplished that with what you see. The kits will be offered in men’s, women’s, and youth sizing and cuts. Also, we have moved away from white shorts and will use the same back shorts for both tops. Not shown are the socks. We will have custom black home socks with the letters HVU stitched on the calf area. The away kits will use a white sock with blue Adidas logo. These kits will be available for our fall 2023 season. The players are going to look great with the club logo showing on the left chest area!
